Lydia's 5th Birthday Party

I CANNOT believe I have a 5 year old... and she is going to Kindergarten in the fall!!! We are so blessed to have her in our family. She is smart, spunky, and definitely keeps us on our toes.

Here are some things she loves right now!

She loves pink and purple.
She loves princesses.
She recently stopped sucking her thumb and gave up her beloved blanket with little encouragement from us.
She loves being around friends and is very social.
She loves cookies and baking things with me.
She loves visiting family not close by and misses them as soon as we leave!

We let her have a little friend party at our house this year and so she chose to have her theme , Doc McStuffins. Here are some photos!

Claire's 1st Birthday AKA "Cake Smash Fail"

Okay SERIOUSLY?! How in the world is she already one. I thought it went by fast with Lydia, but I feel like we moved to warp speed. Even thought it has gone fast, I also can't imagine our home without her. She lights up our house and she is Lydia's little sister. We just love her to pieces.

Because her birthday is in December I didn't take one year photos. I take a lot of photos anyways and we had just gotten family pictures taken not too long ago. I will be getting some new "posed" and traditional photos in the spring/summer!

I REALLY wanted to do a cake smash on the floor with her. She LOVES food and I thought she would be totally game. I made her a cute little cake with some yummy whipped cream frosting and bought a few accessories for her to wear! WELL, that's not what happened. I got everything set up on the floor and she just was NOT having it. Oh well... at least my effort was documented :)

It quickly went from THIS

to THIS in a matter of seconds.

So we tried taking off the hat and got her to take a little taste.

That helped a little, but it wasn't long before she had just had enough!

So we decided this was going to be a no go and cleaned her up and gave it a rest for a bit. Then we decided to just put her in her high chair with ONE piece and then we gave her the whole cake. Not what I had in mind, but she did enjoy this better :)

AND that was Claire's birthday party that she won't even remember haha. I'm glad she came around and at least enjoyed her cake because it was REALLY good.

Her are also her stats from her 12 month check up!

Weight: 18.2 lbs (22%)
Height: 29.5" (58%)

She has 8 teeth and LOVES food, but only if she can feed it to herself.
She pulls herself up to things, but isn't walking quite yet.
She crawls and rolls everywhere.
She is a needy momma's girl!

Love you Claire Bear! Life wouldn't be the same without you.

AND then one last thing that happened that same weekend was Lydia had her very FIRST dance recital! Most of the pictures/videos were taken on my phone ( I need a better zoom ) so I just have the one photo. She looked so grown up and was the CUTEST one on stage for sure (not biased).

They did a tap dance to the Fixer Upper song from Frozen. She even got to wear a full face of makeup for the very first time and needless to say she LOVED that.

Lydia's 1st Friend Birthday Party

On her actual birthday she spent the day with me so we had lunch at Kneaders and I took her to Toys 'r' Us to spend her birthday money from her great grandma. After Adam got off work we took her out to dinner at Garcia's! This girl loves her capos! (tacos)

Even though we didn't have a party I needed just a few pictures of her on her ACTUAL birthday!

I had intentions of giving Lydia a friend party last year, but it just didn't happen. I was in my 1st trimester and the thought of planning and doing everything for a party exhausted me! This year I stepped up and we threw her a birthday party with her friends.

We invited some of her close friends to the splash pad by our house and I got cupcakes. NOTHING BIG. She thought it was the best thing ever. This girl thrives on being around other people and birthdays so having the two together was a dream come true for her!

She told me she wanted a princess party, but she has some friends that are boys so I decided to do a princess/spiderman party because I didn't think the boys would be thrilled about princess cupcakes and party favors :). We appreciate everyone coming to celebrate this girls birthday!

Note to self: Get the SAME princess on each cupcake so no one stresses out about not getting the princess they want!

Claire had her first encounter with a boy and she wasn't too impressed with him being in her bubble.

This was the last of her 3 birthday celebrations so I think it's safe to say she had a GREAT birthday. She's already told me she is going to have 3 birthdays when she turns 5...WE'LL SEE :)

Well since we are talking about May still I might as well update about everything else going on! Towards the first part of the month I actually decided to be a Beachbody coach! I was introduced to the business about 18 months ago and after watching some awesome coach's rocking their business I decided I really wanted to do it and I'm so happy I did. I was already using and loving their workout programs so I just added a few more things!

I just basically do 3 things:

1. Be my best self and strive towards living a healthy lifestyle
2. Help others do the same
3. Repeat

It's been so rewarding being able to help other people reach their goals to being a happier and healthier person. I can't tell you how happy it makes me when someone tells me THANK YOU for helping and inspiring them to be better.

It really is true that losing yourself helping others is the best way to find yourself. I feel like this is making me a better person as a whole and I can't wait to see where this business takes me!
