Singin'
This girl LOVES to sing. She sings around the house and in the car most of the day and is usually the one to request all of the songs in nursery. Her newest ones she can sing are "I Am A Child Of God" and "I Love To Sing The Temple". She just started singing along to those two the other day when I was putting her to bed. I had to fight back the tears! She still needs a little help with the two. Here is a video clip of her singing a few of her favorite songs. She usually sings them a little better than this, but she gets distracted easily :) Don't mind Adam...he's just taking his Sunday nap!

You Are My Sunshine
I'm on a roll this week! Things just keep coming up. This time we caught Lydia singing You Are My Sunshine on video :)
I forgot i got this one on video a few days ago. She is getting better at using her spoon to feed herself cereal and other things. I just think it's so funny how big she has to open her mouth up everytime :)

I'm 10
Adam had a birthday on Sunday! We got to go out to dinner Saturday to The Outback. (Thanks Adam's mom and dad!) It was DELICIOUS. We haven't been there a whole lot together. Sunday we just went to church and relaxed! I had made a strawberry and cream pie the day before (recipe here). I've been drooling over this recipe since I found it a little while ago on Pinterest. Really yummy and EASY! Anywho..here are some pics.
Of course this little one had to come see what I was doing.
She can't resist something sweet.
We sang to daddy
And then helped blow out the candles :) She has to practice for her birthday coming up in May! (I'm kind of starting to freak out that she'll be 2 AND that I have NO idea what I'm doing for her birthday yet!
TODAY just happens to be my mom's birthday :) I made a little video of Lydia for you! I made one with my new DSLR, but the file is SO big ( even on the lowest setting) that it would be almost impossible to get on here. So I had to make another one with my old one!
We love you mom (and grandma)!
I'm still behind on posts, but I'm working on it! Don't forget I'm making my blog private on April 1! If you like reading then please send me your email :)

Lydie
It's a rainy (scratch that it's actually snowing now) day and I don't plan on going ANYWHERE. I wish Adam didn't have to work so we could all just stay in our pjs all day and snuggle on the couch. One exciting thing did happen today though....Lydia learned how to say Elmo finally! She is obsessed with that little red monster and can even say Abby (Elmo's fairy friend). It was so cute when she finally figured it out. You could see in her face how excited she was. It started out as El-mee, but then after looking at how I was saying it over and over again she finally figured it out. I decided to take a little video of her saying all the new words she's learned lately.
SO cute right? I'm a proud momma :)
I've been doing this once a week photo challenge with Paint The Moon. It's really just for fun and gives me a little challenge every week. You can find past week photos I've posted HERE. This week Lydia was involved in my challenge of photographing an everyday tool (my blow dryer). I loved these pictures so I wanted to post more here :)
I'm hoping everyone stays warm and dry today! Happy Saturday :)

Brace Yourself
The content of this blog post is EXTREMELY cute. I finally took a video of her doing animal sounds and some other things. BUT before I show that...here's what she has been up to.
Getting into the candy dish...
On top of the kitchen table.
We've got a climber on our hands. She is constantly climbing onto the chairs and moving them so she can get onto the table. I'm just thankful she hasn't hurt her self!
She's so smart and understands nearly everything we tell her these days. She goes to nursery in 2 weeks. She is going to love it! We are very exciting forus her.
Well here are the videos I'm sure most of you were wanting to see. I took 2 because I forgot to ask her a few things the first time
We are going to Emmett for Thanksgiving this year so hopefully Adam will find out when we he can get off work! We love spending time with both of our families and Adam is definitely in need of a little vacation from everything!

ONE last thing.....
I took this video of Lydia tonight.
I love listening to her jabber and now you get to see what I listen to all day.

Lydie's Latest
Okay I said I wouldn't post again until after the weekend, but we took a video on Sunday of her latest trick!
Another thing I need to get on video is her latest word. She's been saying forms of "mom: and "dad' for quite awhile, but she just started to say "cheese" it comes out sounding more like "sheesh", but it is SOOOO cute. She is also learning where some things are on her body (like her belly button). She is one smart cookie and it surprises me everyday on how fast she learns things.
ANYways, later Sunday night she started acting sick because she caught the cold I got. (Adam now has it too *sigh* sorry family) Luckily, it's been pretty short lived and she is already a lot better than she was! I told her she had to get better quick so we could go up to Idaho!

Check Up
Lydia had her one year checkup yesterday. She would not even let the doctor touch her without crying. I had to lay her on the table and she was clinging on to me for dear life. She had to get two shots and get some blood taken. They only had to prick her finger to test her iron, but it took FOREVER to get enough blood and I had to hold her still and she was screaming and crying the whole time. I am sure everyone in the doctor's office could hear her. Very traumatic visit.
Well here is how she's measuring up nowadays:
Since she liked her jammies on her head I thought maybe she would keep a hat on....
Well here is how she's measuring up nowadays:
Height: 29.5 in. (65%)
Weight: 18 lbs 1 oz (10%)
It's always hard to see her so sad, but it doesn't take her long to get back to her goofy self.
Here's a video that just makes me laugh.

One
She's graduating from being a baby and is becoming a little toddler.
Where did the last 12 months go?
Well we had a fun little birthday party for her last Friday and I thought it turned out great. Lydia took a little while to warm up to everyone being there, but then she socialized with her guests (especially after she had birthday cake).
First are some pictures from that morning when she got her birthday present from mom and dad.
I just had to put the bow on her head...it didn't stay on long.
We also got her some bubbles. She still isn't quite sure about them yet.
Later that evening was her party. We got her some balloons and it was the first time she has ever been around them. She was pretty impressed. She carried one or two around with her everywhere most the day and for a few days after her party too.

This one made me laugh...her nose looks like a little piggy. |
Now it's birthday cake time! For everyone there this is what I made.

It's a strawberry fridge cake |

Trying to get a picture with her walking around was poor planning on my part... |

The candle was a bit big so I had to hold on to it AND I should have repainted my nails. I was going to but I got busy...now I wish i had |

I had to buy the headband |

Singing Happy Birthday to her...she couldn't figure out why so many people were staring at her. |

This is truly the messiest she got. She has had a bigger mess during regular meal times. |

Yet Another...
Yes it's another video...but it's a good one. She is at the age where she keeps learning how to do new and cute things everyday. This is one of them.
Also on a side note, Lydia is getting her first tooth! In fact, we noticed yesterday she is getting two. They're both on the bottom. When they come in I'll do my best to get pictures up quick!

Standing Up
She's been standing up by herself for a few weeks now, but I FINALLY took a video of it so here you go :)
(I apologize for the shiftiness towards the end...it's a little hard to control the camera when she's climbing on me)

Loud and Messy
Lydia is becoming such a happy little stinker...it's night and day from when she was a newborn. I didn't think she'd EVER get to this point! About 75% of her awake time she's squealing (loudly), crawling everywhere, climbing on everything (including me), and eating anything she can get her hands on.
This first video is a good example of her squealing...she does this a lot. Her great grandma Henderson gave her this ball popper for Christmas. Needless to say, she was impressed.
In this next video I decided to let her try and feed herself so I stripped her down to her diaper and let her go at it.
Not too long after she'd already had enough...and she was letting me know. This obviously is not a good feeding option for us.
She also talks like this in a happier version..it's really cute. She's going to be chatty. We can't wait to hear her start saying real words. I think she knows how to say momma. She will yell that in her crib in the middle of the night when I need to go feed her or when she crawls towards me sometimes. She's a mommy's girl :)

Coming into 2011 with a bang!
Happy New Year everyone! We were real party animals this year....not. My parents came up to hang out with us for new years this year. Adam had to work most the time like usual so I was happy they came. We didn't even stay up 'till midnight. We were in bed asleep by about 11:30 :) That's what happens when you have a baby that wakes up numerous times a night. Speaking of which, she slept 10 straight hours last night. We were SHOCKED. Hopefully this isn't one time thing...and hopefully I didn't just jinx it. I'll let you know how she does.
To ring in the new year I thought I'd show you some videos/pictures of what Miss Lydia Fay has been up to. She's not only a pro-crawler, but now she can pull herself up to everything. I haven't gotten a video of that one yet..sorry. I will I promise.
![]() |
She had NO help from mom or dad... |
She also got into a blue candy cane...oops.
Her cheeks were dry that day..that's why they're so rosy |
The next new thing is we gave her cheerios yesterday for the first time. She's decided she doesn't want me to spoon feed her anymore? yea she's way too little to have decided that already. She's only 7 1/2 months old. Hopefully it's just a phase, but until then I'm starting to try finger foods with her.
This one is just cute...I'm glad someone thinks I'm funny :)
2010 was good to us...hopefully 2011 will be just as good or even better!

Crawler
That's right...my baby can crawl. I thought I would have another month or two, but she was really determined and figured it out. Luckily, she's not too fast. She's very close to sitting up by herself, but she's more interested in learning to get places on her own. I don't blame her.
This first video was taken about a month ago when she was starting to get the idea.
This video was also about a month ago and is also an attempt, but it's short and kinda funny
Finally she has figured it out and I took this one of her today
I have to keep a close eye on her now because she already goes for things she's not supposed to have. Time to baby proof!

Happy Halloween!
It didn't really feel like Halloween this year..I didn't dress up and Lydia was too little to do anything with. We stayed indoors that night and handed candy out to the trick-or-treaters that came by. Sadly, there weren't very many because it was rainy and cold. I have way too much candy left! Lydia didn't have a costume, but my mom did get her a cute Halloween outfit.
it says 'Daddy's Under My Spell' (very true) |

She's just stinkin' cute |
Lydia and I did go to a party Saturday afternoon. Daniele (Adam's little sister) had a Bachelorette party in Provo so we drove up for the afternoon since Adam had to work all day.
She's getting married in 3 weeks..we are very excited for her! Here are a few pictures from the party.
We played some fun games and one included her putting a lot of gum in her mouth, hence the gum in her hand. |
And then like usual here is a video of Lydia for the Grandmas...enjoy!

Unproductive
Adam and I have had some laughs trying to feed Lydia this week. She just still doesn't think food is so impressive yet. She got her first taste of green beans....the pictures pretty much explain themselves.
![]() |
That's how I feel about green beans too.. |
This video was taken tonight. I was just trying to feed her rice cereal, but she wouldn't stop talking and putting her hands in her mouth. It's pretty cute even though the majority of the cereal ended up on her face and hands.

Shots
Lydia had to get her 2nd round of shots today at her 4 month appointment...poor thing. She handled it better than the last time and didn't cry as long (I didn't cry either). Last time when we came home she had a sad little whimper all day long, but she seems to be pretty much back to normal so hopefully it stays that way and her little legs don't hurt too much!
Here's how she's measuring up:
Weight: 13 lbs 1 oz (25th percentile)
Height: 25 in. (60th percentile)
Tall and skinny....anyone surprised? I just have a feeling she's going to end up taller than me...*sigh*
Anyways here's a picture and video. I know that's what all the grandma's and grandpa's like to see :)
![]() |
Getting ready for bed...it's hard to keep her in one position to get her diaper on and dressed lately. |
She's trying to figure out the whole crawling thing. She knows her legs will move her somehow, but she hasn't figured out her top half has to be involved...

Big Girl
I ordered this really cute high chair online and Lydia thinks she is such a big girl. She can't sit up herself yet, but it's supportive enough that she can still sit in it just fine.
I gave her a sippy cup with some water in it. She's always grabbing at my drinks so I decided it's time for her own.
She mostly just chews on it and very little water actually goes down...it usually just dribbles down her chin and her shirt gets soaked, but she thinks it's fun.
She also grabs at everything I try to eat and so we gave her a little bit of rice cereal for the first time...I'm not sure if she's too impressed with it yet.

Rolling Over
So I said in my last post earlier today that she was very close to rolling over without getting stuck...well she figured it out this afternoon. She's done it several times and I finally got it on camera. She knows how to go from her tummy to her back, but hasn't combined the two yet.
That'll probably happen tomorrow.
Enjoy :)
Four Months
Lydia is officially 4 months old today! She's such a big girl :) She's learning lots of new tricks and her little personality develops more everyday. Here's what she's been up to this month
1. Rolling over. I still haven't gotten this one on camera. She is so close to flipping over without getting her arm stuck.
2. She loves getting her diaper changed, getting in the tub. Pretty much things without her clothes on.
3. She's learning how to talk and use her tongue (kinda)
4. Giggling
5. Grabbing EVERYTHING
6. Sucking on her hands and slobbering everywhere
Here's a video I took last night. Her giggle is pretty bubbly sounding from all the spit she constantly has in her mouth. It's pretty dang cute though :)
Here are some pictures that have been taken recently. I have taken a ridiculous amount of pictures of her. It's hard to catch her smiling for the camera. I get her cranky face more often than I get an actual smile..Imagine that huh? :)
